Families around Flemington can start Halloween a day early on Friday, October 30, when the Raritan Township Police Department holds a Trunk or Treat from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 1 Municipal Drive in Flemington.
The department is joined by Rescue 49, the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad, and the Raritan Township Fire Company. First responders provide the treats, so families only need to bring costumes. The department's flyer lists no cost or registration, and a department caption calls it the first annual event.
It is one of several Friday stops. Chirp, 160 Main Street, is listed in Hunterdon Happening's Halloween guide for Chirp After Dark: Halloween Kids Club from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The listing does not give a cost, so check with the shop before you go.
Later in the evening, the fifth annual Stangl Witch Walk takes over Stangl Road with The Haunted Carnival. The borough's notice lists 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, while its calendar shows a 5:00 PM start.
Trick-or-treating in Flemington Borough follows on Saturday, October 31, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We could not find posted hours for Raritan Township as of Friday, so township residents should check with the Raritan Township Police Department at 908-782-8889.
