Hey Hunterdon County! One of the richest counties in the country! You should be doing way better than you are!!!!! My experience has been ok. Nice that there is a place to go when it is 32 or below at night. I do believe the system is extremely screwed up to make anyone sleep outside when it is cold and below at least 50 degrees when there is a place for people to sleep.. so people aren’t living out on the streets. It’s a shame that this place is across the street from a church yet there is no help from these churches that claim to be of god. Again, the system is a huge joke and doesn’t really care about anyone in all reality. The woman who answers the phone at the helpline, not sure of her name, Susan maybe… I think needs to be replaced by someone who has more compassion for people who are facing these hardships. She has a very condescending tone towards people seeking “help” from a helpline! Could you imagine someone questioning your need for a place to sleep with a tone that is extremely uninviting and almost sounds as if you don’t deserve to be there. Then putting false information into the system in regards to why you’re there and when you’re asked about why you’re there from the evening employee you’re told what was in the system…there goes any privacy you may have liked to have, especially when it wasn’t even correct. Other than the rude lady I have no issues with this place but I feel that people should know what to expect when calling.. I’d feel bad for someone who has mental health issues as well cause this lady could really cause someone who is depressed or has anxiety to not seek help from here and/or even resort to other horrible ways of dealing with the feelings this lady may cause to arise with her rude and condescending comments tone..

Not a very welcoming place to call. Certainly of no help. Would rather sleep in a box in the cold than deal with this place again.
