We tried playing billiards at Breakaway and overall we had fun. We did make some mistakes, like bouncing the billiard balls on the table and sitting on the table while attempting difficult shots like the pros do. The manager/owner saw us and informed us that those actions weren’t allowed, which we understand and respect. However, we felt a bit uncomfortable because we were yelled at instead of being spoken to privately. We understand that we were in the wrong, but we would have appreciated a calmer and more respectful explanation.

I noticed several previous reviews describing experiences very similar to mine, which makes it concerning that this may be an ongoing issue. I understand that facilities have rules and pool etiquette, but not everyone is familiar with them. What bothered me was the way corrections were handled. Instead of approaching customers privately, staff members would call out mistakes from across the room, which felt unnecessarily embarrassing and seemed intended to draw attention to the person being corrected. I also observed other customers sitting on the pool table while attempting difficult shots, yet they were not addressed by staff. If rules are going to be enforced, they should be applied consistently to everyone. A respectful reminder given in person would go a long way toward creating a more welcoming environment. There are better ways to inform customers about rules without publicly calling them out.

Go-to spot for late night games of pool. Super clean. No smoking. Great tables. Seen people BYOB. Good crowd as well. Honestly the only place in town worth going at night.
